The Unfriend

This clever modern comedy of manners takes a satirical look at middle class England’s desire never to offend even when the uninvited American house guest, who may be “kinda wunnerful”, turns out to have a history to die for!

Elsa’s eventual departure descends (or should that be ascends) into farce as she leaves behind her a trail of potentially lethal but hilarious consequences for the whole family, the neighbourhood and the local police force.

Steven Moffat is an award winning writer whose TV shows include Doctor Who and Sherlock. On its West End opening in 2023 critics described The Unfriend as “effortlessly entertaining”, “funniest new play since Ayckbourn”, “a killer comedy”.

Angela Reid writes........" I realise I am following in the snow prints of Frozen but HTC is on the lookout for a second Elsa. This one is very different - American widow, warm, lovable and gloriously outrageous. Come and be introduced to my description of this character, plus the other six wonderful parts in the brilliant, hilarious THE UNFRIEND, launching on 18 September in the Henfield Hall at 7.00pm.

The Launch is open to all members, family and friends whether you plan to audition or not. It's a great excuse to socialise and catch up with those rehearsing The Ghost Train and Frozen and those rehearsing nothing at all.
